Programs aimed at combating domestic terrorism, such as Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), have caused irreparable harm to the Muslim American community. The double standards in the application of these programs have unjustly targeted communities of color and subjected them to unnecessary surveillance and harassment, despite empirical data that has identified white supremacist violence to be the greatest domestic threat.
Emgage Action and MPAC have created this package to address these double standards in terrorism charges and sentencing. The report argues that terrorism prevention programs should not target specific faith-based or ethnic groups and supports the consistent application of existing, rather than new laws, to prosecute perpetrators.
We hope that you can attend or virtually watch this important press conference.
We wish you Eid mubarak, from the entire Emgage family,
Wa'el Alzayat, Emgage Action CEO
