Speak Out about China's Uyghur Genocide

Dear <fname>, Assalam alaikum!

As the Winter Olympics kick off in China this week, a genocide is still occurring in China. The Chinese Communist Party is systematically erasing the Uyghur community by demolishing their mosques and other sacred Uyghur sites. Thousands are imprisoned and enduring unspeakable human rights abuses and torture in concentration camps. Will China successfully use the Olympics to mask its ongoing genocide and rewrite history?

“Nobody cares about what’s happening to the Uyghurs, OK?” said Chamath Palihapitiya during an episode of the podcast, All In. The former Facebook executive and founder of investment fund Social Capital sparked fury online when he dismissed the human rights abuses suffered by China’s Uyghur minorities.

In response to criticism, Palihapitiya issued a token apology for his insensitive statements. This attitude reflects a long-held stance in the business world: profit over people. And that’s why CAIR is urging all Americans to contact the US-based corporations promoting the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics to speak out against the ongoing genocide targeting China's Uyghur Muslim minority.

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.

It’s easy. Spread the word and take action.

Together, we can defeat tyranny and hatred!
