Summarized Bio:
Imam Islam Hassan is married with three daughters.
Hafiz of Quran
fluent in English and Arabic.
Served as an Imam at the Islamic Society of Vermont (ISVT) for the past ten years where he led the Quran and Hifz Programs.
Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Islamic Studies and Islamic Politics. He has an Ijaza in Quran memorization in the following recitations: (Hafs, Shu’ba, Qaloon, Dori, & Abu Al-Harith). He has an Ijaza in the six books of Sunna, (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu-Dawood, At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasai, and Ibn- Majah). He has also memorized Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. He holds multiple Ijazas to teach various profound books in all branches of Islamic Education.
Imam Hassan has a passion for social justice and has represented his community in vigils and in the media on numerous occasions. He is very involved in interfaith efforts with faith leaders in the Vermont community through VIA (Vermont Interfaith Action). He started a podcast called Kipah, Kufi & Collar along with his friends from the Jewish and Christian faith. He has led youth programs in his Islamic Center to engage and teach the youth through creative programs. He likes to stay active and enjoys sports and hiking.
