JOB DESCRIPTION: Organizer – Census Outreach ORGANIZATION: CAIR-AZ

SUMMARY:

CAIR-AZ is seeking a part-time organizer to help with our 2020 Census outreach efforts. The U.S. Census provides key resources to local communities – therefore it is vital to ensure our communities are properly counted to ensure the proper funding is allocated. This impacts schools, healthcare access, infrastructure and even the number of representatives we have in the U.S. House. We are seeking a self-motivated and energetic individual to help us finish up this campaign until the end of 2020.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

With the recent announcement that U.S. Census field operations coming to an end on 9/30/20, CAIR-AZ is joining with local partners for a final push to ensure to maximize response rate in hard-to-count communities. We are hiring a part-time organizer (25-30 hours per week) to help with these outreach efforts leading up to the deadline, and until the end of the year.

The ideal candidate will:

Help recruit a team of volunteers to participate in census outreach efforts Take part in a series of text-banking campaigns along with our partners, targeting hard-to-reach/undercounted communities.

Attend weekly coalition conference calls, ensuring our organization is represented Help develop educational content for social media as well as conduct periodic Facebook and Instagram Live sessions

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communications Ability to work in a team environment and with tight deadlines Experience with campaign organizing/texting outreach a plus

Compensation: $16-17/hourly
